Managed all aspects of California Forward’s 2023 California Economic Summit bringing over 950+ local, state, and federal government policymakers, community advocacy groups, philanthropy, academia, business and youth organizers together to collaborate on a shared “regions up” economic agenda that prioritizes – racial equity, environmental sustainability and economic growth for all Californians. Featured speakers included Dee Dee Myers, Senior Advisor to CA Gov Newsom and CA Secretary of Labor Stewart Knox. 

Planned and managed onsite operations for the City of Santa Monica’s Mental Health Awareness Month's community events -- Future of Behavioral Health. These public forums brought inspiring and top behavioral health experts together to discuss solutions related to mental health, substance use disorders, and the correlation to homelessness. Each event was held at a different location, with different speakers and programming focused on the intended attendees.

Produced invite only conference of 300+ showcasing AI innovation, “HumAIn” Creativity and strategies for VC investment. Special 5-minute "Shark Tank" AI technology pitches or presentations were held between speakers and panels highlighting AI innovation in: 

• ClimateAI
• SportsAI
• RetailAI
• MusicAI 
• HealthAI 

Featured speaker included Dov Moran, inventor of the thumb drive.

Contracted by Rainforest Alliance (formerly UTZ Certified) to manage marketing projects and trade show calendar in NA. 

• Developed inclusive marketing strategy promoting Education, Health, Safety and Farming Methods training for coffee, cocoa and tea farmers and families who achieved certification in sustainable farming practices. 
• Custom illustrations promoted training on signage for people unable to read, translated into languages and rolled out in Central American, India, and Côte d'Ivoire, Africa.
• Produced reports for key investors including Netherlands Government on results of pilot biogas sustainability project, Energy from Coffee Waste in Central America using data in Spanish (handwritten) from 19 pilot coffee farms in Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Honduras.

Provided marketing, communication & PR expertise to global animal welfare non-profit, Duo Duo Project, with project goal to advance their mission to end the dog meat trade. 

• Developed and launched strategies to drive engagement for live and online fundraisers resulting in 117% increase in donations in one year.
• Led legislative efforts including organizing press conference and rally on the Capitol of California in Sacramento and presented on Capitol Hill in Washington DC urging US lawmakers to pass House Resolution 401 (H.Res.401) urging nations to end dog meat trade. H.Res.401 passed in Nov 2017 with 152 co-sponsors.
• Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump, co-presented which garnered media coverage in People, Daily Mail, Washington Post, on Bravo TV and in other print/online.
• Change.org petition to build awareness has 5+mil signers including celebrities, high-profile people. Honored by Change as most signed ever. 

The project won the 2012 SCAA Sustainability Award and the 2010 Global Sustainable Biomass Fund from The Netherland's Government for results of pilot biogas sustainability project, Energy from Coffee Waste in Central America. 

• United Nations recognized the Energy from Coffee Waste in Central America project in their report Making Certification Work for Sustainable Development: The Case of Biofuels. 
• Used handwritten data in Spanish from 19 pilot coffee farms in Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Honduras.
• Project won the 2012 SCAA Sustainability Award and the 2010 Global Sustainable Biomass Fund. 

Volunteered expertise to first Chicago Team World Vision charity run organizers. Provided tools and techniques on how to build awareness, develop cause marketing strategies and create campaigns for fundraisers and events. Recommendations included:

• Using storytelling technique for marketing strategy after learning people in Africa (high percentage being children) walked an average 6 kms a day for clean water.
• Rebranding the event to 6K for Water.
• Changing the race length to 6 kms to differentiate it from other 5K charity runs already well-established. 
• Charity run is now globally branded 6K for Water. 

L.A. Plax won election to Board of Chicago's Wrigleyville chamber of commerce (formerly Central Lakeview Merchants Association)

• Served as Head of Marketing and sat on Events committee member celebrated for opening the Rink at Wrigley, the first outdoor ice skating rink at Wrigley Field, home of MLB’s Chicago Cubs. (3 MLB stadiums now have ice skating rinks.)
• Chicago Cubs MLB pitcher Ryan Dempster threw the ceremonial “first pitch” to hockey legend and former Chicago Blackhawks Stan Mikita... on skates! 
• “Opening Day” event attended by Ricketts family (Chicago Cubs owners), local politicians, media and the public. 
• Rink at Wrigley is now a major Chicago attraction with tens of thousands of skaters per year.
• Events Committee also oversaw annual street music festival and major chamber funding source.

Won citywide bid for rebranding project for Chicago's Lakeview / Wrigleyville neighborhood and chamber of commerce.

• Creative work included new logo, marketing materials and individual street pole banners for business members.
• For launch of new branding, the new logo "wrapped" a Chicago "EL" train.
• Custom banners with logos of the member businesses hung around Lakeview / Wrigleyville and historic Wrigley Field — home to beloved MLB team, the Chicago Cubs.
